RECAP: All The New 2018-19 NHL Logos & Jerseys

With third jerseys back in the NHL, there were a lot of new jerseys and logos unveiled!

There have been a total of 16 alternate jerseys unveiled thus far with four more that have been reported to still come. Out of the 16 alternates, there are 7 of them that were brought from 2017 - the year before third jerseys were abandoned in 2017-18. Also of the 16, 6 of them are brand new and 7 of them are throwbacks.

There were also 16 new logos unveiled for this season with the two Stadium Series teams' logos still to come! 3 anniversary logos, 3 new word marks, 8 event logos and the two Winter Classic teams' new vintage logos.

TEAM BY TEAM RECAP: (UPDATED ON JAN. 8, 2019)

  • The L.A. Kings new silver third jersey was officially unveiled on Friday, Novemeber 16.

  • The New York Islanders have officially unveiled their brand new third jersey! It is inspired by their 2014 Stadium Series jersey. This also came with a new version of their "NY" logo and a brand new team wordmark.

  • The New Jersey Devils will finally have a third jersey in 2018-19. It will be a throwback to their 1980's white, red & green uniforms!

  • The Ottawa Senators surprised us with a statement saying they will bring back their 2017 Centennial Classic jersey as their new third jersey this season.

  • The Philadelphia Flyers will bring back their 2017 Stadium Series jersey as their new 2018-19 alternate. The only change to the jersey will be the addition of the "Philadelphia" word mark to the inside of the collar.

  • The Pittsburgh Penguins unveiled a brand new gold third jersey for the 2018-19 season featuring the "triangle-less" logo from the 2017 Stadium Series. See our blog post here.

  • The San Jose Sharks unveiled a brand new third jersey for the 2018-19 season. They call it the "Stealth Jersey" since it is predominately black & teal with most of the white removed. See our blog post here. The jersey has a darker version of their primary logo on the front, and it brings back the "fin" logo (also a darker version) as the shoulder patch.

  • The St. Louis Blues will bring back their 2017 Winter Classic uniform (which was based on their original 1967 jerseys) as their new heritage jersey for 2018-19.

  • The Tampa Bay Lightning all black third jersey was leaked online. We are still waiting for the official reveal.

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs will bring back their St. Pats uniforms for a game on St. Patrick's Day in 2019.

  • The Winnipeg Jets new "Aviator Blue" third jersey was officially unveiled on September 14th, combining the old & new Jets franchises into one jersey. The new third also came with a brand new "Jets" wordmark, replacing the one introduced when they relocated from Atlanta.

NHL EVENTS

As always the outdoor games this season will bring their fair share of new logos and jerseys and same goes for the All-Star Game.

First off, here are this season's Winter Classic and Stadium Series logos that have been unveiled:

As for the 2019 NHL All-Star Game (located in San Jose), the logo has been revealed but the four divisional jerseys will still come later.

The 2019 NHL Entry Draft will be in Vancouver this year. These are the logos that have been unveiled for the event:

A newer event that now brings some more logos each year are for the games played overseas. These games are given the names Global Series, Global Series Challenge and China Games. Each year the NHL goes to different countries to play some games as an attempt to grow the sport. This time around the games are located in China, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.
